Bonne nouvelle pour les volontaires internationaux : les règles d’indemnisation évoluent, avec une indemnité supplémentaire désormais dégressive en cas de retour anticipé pour situation de crise, et un maintien renforcé des droits en congé maternité ou d’adoption.

VIE / VIA : nouvelles modalités de versement de l’indemnité supplémentaire

Principalement destiné aux étudiants, jeunes diplômés et chercheurs d’emploi âgés de 18 à 28 ans, le volontariat international en administration (VIA) ou en entreprise (VIE) constitue un véritable tremplin vers les carrières à l’international.

Ce dispositif permet ainsi d’effectuer une mission à l’étranger au sein d’une entreprise ou d’un organisme public français, afin d’acquérir une expérience professionnelle, tout en percevant une indemnité mensuelle.

En complément, une indemnité dite « supplémentaire » est également versée : elle vise à couvrir les dépenses liées à la subsistance, à l’équipement et au logement, selon un montant uniforme, quelle que soit la mission exercée. Or, les modalités de versement de cette indemnité supplémentaire viennent d’évoluer.

Depuis le 3 décembre 2025, lorsqu’un volontaire est amené à interrompre sa mission et à rentrer sur instruction de l’autorité compétente en cas de situation de crise, l’indemnité supplémentaire devient dégressive jusqu’au terme initial de la mission.

  • Dans ce cas, s’il revient sur le territoire français (ou sur celui de l’État où se situe sa résidence principale), il perçoit : 100 % de l’indemnité supplémentaire pendant les 30 premiers jours ;
  • 60 % du 31e au 60e jour inclus ;
  • 35 % à compter du 61e jour. Pendant toute cette période, le volontaire continue néanmoins de percevoir l’intégralité de son indemnité mensuelle.

Par ailleurs, les règles d’indemnisation applicables aux volontaires en congé de maternité ou en congé d’adoption effectué sur le territoire français ont aussi été ajustées.

Ainsi, dans cette hypothèse, le volontaire conservera l’indemnité mensuelle et l’indemnité supplémentaire, y compris lorsqu’il est en congé en France (ou dans l’État de résidence principale).

Rappelons qu’en cas d’arrêt maladie effectué en France ou dans l’État où il a sa résidence principale, le volontaire perçoit son indemnité mensuelle, ainsi que 50 % de l’indemnité supplémentaire perçue jusqu’alors.

Désormais cet abattement de 50% ne s’applique donc pas aux volontaires en congé maternité ou d’adoption.
