La question a été posée de savoir s’il était possible d’abaisser le taux de TVA applicable aux équipements de sécurité obligatoires pour les automobilistes, etc., et aux sièges auto pour enfants. Réponse…


TVA : pas de taux réduit pour les équipements automobiles !

Actuellement, les équipements de sécurité obligatoires (ou fortement recommandés) pour les automobilistes, cyclomotoristes, cyclistes, etc. (casques homologués, gants de sécurité, etc.), de même que les sièges auto pour enfants, sont soumis au taux normal de TVA fixé à 20 %.

Or, d’autres produits comme le caviar, qui ne sont pourtant pas destinés à sauver des vies, bénéficient du taux réduit de TVA à 5,5 %.

Il a donc été demandé au Gouvernement s’il était envisagé d’abaisser à 5,5 % le taux de TVA applicable à ces équipements automobiles.

Malheureusement, la réponse est négative : si le Gouvernement est déterminé à améliorer la sécurité routière et à réduire le nombre de victimes d’accidents de la route, il n’envisage pas, pour le moment, de réduire le taux de TVA applicable aux équipements de sécurité obligatoire et aux sièges autos pour enfants.
