Depuis le 31 janvier 2020 à minuit, le « Brexit » est effectif et le Royaume-Uni a quitté l’Union européenne. Cela a-t-il un impact pour les pêcheurs français qui exercent leur activité dans les eaux de Guernesey ?


Pêcher à Guernesey = sur autorisation !

Le 31 janvier 2020 à minuit, le Royaume-Uni a quitté l’Union européenne.

Toutefois, cela ne change rien sur l’accès aux eaux territoriales du Royaume-Uni, l’accord de sortie instaurant une période de transition jusqu’au 31 décembre 2020.

Néanmoins, il existe une particularité pour Guernesey : les pêcheurs français peuvent y accéder et y exercer leur activité de pêche grâce à la « Convention de Londres » (dans la zone des 6-12 milles). Et celle-ci a expiré le 31 janvier 2020 à minuit !

Cependant, l’accès à ces eaux est maintenu pour les pêcheurs français, jusqu’à la fin de l’année 2020, à condition d’obtenir une autorisation individuelle. Et cela suppose de s’adresser aux autorités de Guernesey.

Dans l’attente de l’obtention de cette autorisation, selon une procédure qui doit être mise en place prochainement, l’accès aux eaux de Guernesey pour les pêcheurs français est suspendu.
